The "Newbywed" Wedding: Setting the Date
Andrew and I had been dating for two amazing years when he proposed. Under cafe lights in our newly renovated backyard we were dancing to the music of an antique record player that Andrew just gave me as a gift. On bended knee, he proposed and made me the happiest I've ever been in my life.
When we shared the news with our family and friends, the first thing they would ask is "Have you set the date??". Are you kidding me? How fast do people set dates for their wedding?

Turkey Chili served in a Roasted Pumpkin
Here in Boston the air is starting to get a bit more crisp, the autumn leaves are starting to fall, so it is the perfect time to make a big bowl of warm and spicy chili.
I went for the healthier option with ground turkey as well as the pumpkin bowl (you can eat the inside!). But you could also use ground beef, add some cheese and sour cream on top and some tortilla chips for dipping on the side. (if you really want to go big - use a bread bowl instead of a pumpkin bowl!).
Roman & Grecian Holiday Part II
We only had one day in Athens before heading to the Islands, so we wanted to make the most of our day by going to the Acropolis. The Acropolis was built on top of a small rocky mountain top, our concierge explained to us where we could catch the bus to the top, but then quickly mentioned that there is a walking path that you could also take to the top. We of course decided to take the challenge to walk it ourselves, without realizing that it was going to be a very humid 100 degree day.
Roman & Grecian Holiday Part I
Only a few days after our perfectly amazing wedding this past June, we were on our way to Rome to start our Honeymoon.
Andrew and I have never traveled to Europe together, so you could imagine the excitement! We just wanted to see/taste/smell everything! We definitely got our fill in gelato (sometimes twice a day!), as well as red wine. We would try to walk everywhere, because the walk was usually just as beautiful as wherever we were heading.
Roasted Pumpkin Seed Recipes
Every year Andrew and I have a little pumpkin carving competition. The Fall is our favorite season, but unfortunately up here in Boston it comes and goes so quickly, so we like to make the best out of every Fall activity.
One of the things I loved as a kid about making jack o' lanterns was carving off the top and reaching in to grab the seeds... that weird feeling and that wonderful pumpkin smell just makes me think 'fall'.
Mini Apple Spice Cheesecakes
There are so many things I love about the Fall season... the crisp air, leaves crunching under your feet, the bright oranges and yellows of the trees, pumpkin spice flavored everything.. but I think my absolute favorite thing about the Fall is apple picking. Andrew and I have started a tradition of going apple picking at Russell Orchards up in Ipswich, MA. It is the perfect little orchard... there is a beautiful drive through windy tree lined roads, and the moment you pull up the smell of Apple Cider Donuts fills the air. There is a little pumpkin patch with children running through it, and a small animal farm that I think Andrew and I enjoyed more than the kids.
